Prayer outline

Happy Mother’s Day!
1 Timothy 2:1 gives us an outline for praying for others. I have never noticed it before so I thought I’d share it with you.

‘I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people.
~ Ask God to help them;
~ intercede on their behalf, and
~ give thanks for them.
2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.’

Let’s bless President Obama and his cabinet, congress and the senate with these kinds of prayers and heavily intercede for godly appointments to the supreme court. Hey, stranger, more miraculous things have happened. The Lord hears our prayers. Don’t forget that the richest, proudest, most powerful sinners are still precious lost children of our Father. He wants them all to come into the family and we can help. What an awesome privilege and responsibility. I love you all!

Believe the Love

1 John 4:16-19 says ‘Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God has God living inside, and that person lives in God.16 And so we know the love that God has for us, and we trust that love. God is love. Those who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.17 This is how love is made perfect in us: that we can be without fear on the day God judges us, because in this world we are like him.18 Where God's love is, there is no fear, because God's perfect love drives out fear. It is punishment that makes a person fear, so love is not made perfect in the person who fears. 19 We love because God first loved us.’

I used to think God loves me because He has to, since He is love, or because He said He would and can’t lie, or something. Actually, the Lord delights in loving me and you. I am praying for more understanding of this love so I can believe more and receive more. As my favorite preacher says, the Lord loved us with His whole heart before He ever said ‘let there be light’. He loves us and believes in us even when we are stupid, rebellious, even blasphemous. He loves loving us. Nothing makes our Father happier than getting to love us. Isn’t that freeing? He actually sings over us! (the bible tells of it in one of the prophets) we’re His (I’m not spelling this right) ‘omsegoolah’, Hebrew for ‘precious treasure’. You are so precious to Him! He made only you like you because you are so special. I want you to wallow in that thought today, like a pig enjoys a mudhole. Get immersed in it. Cover yourself in it by saying ‘my Father loves me because He wants to. He loves me as much as He loves Jesus. I am His favorite, His precious one. He sings over me. He loves me! ‘
I love you, too.

God is Good

How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world.
Psalm 31:19

Good afternoon, friends.
I just got back from my son’s eighth grade graduation. I was so blessed by the students’ talents and enthusiasm, but mostly their pure hearts for worship . I was reminded again that we made the right decision for our children. Since AHA is closing, agree with us for wisdom about next year. We think we have direction but would like confirmation. Thanks!
As I was reading today, I stopped and reread the above verse several times. It lifted my spirit and caused me to take a deep breath and smile. Hope it does the same for you.
I declare in Jesus name that you are blessed. Your money is blessed. Your hands are blessed. Your children are blessed. Your marriages are blessed. You walk in favor on your job. You walk in divine health and protection. Amen. I love you all!

Fear Not

The bible says ‘fear not’ tons of times, but never once said it’s ok to be afraid. Why?
Well, faith is believing that God is doing something good for you, and fear is the opposite. It is believing that the devil is doing something bad to you. It opens the door to him. Job admitted that what he feared came upon him. So if you don’t want it to come upon you, don’t act on the fear. If you want the good things the Lord wants to do for you, act on the faith and do what He tells you. Refuse to do what fear tells you because it’s the devil. Let wisdom, not fear, be the voice you listen to. Wisdom and love. Love you.

I Will

Happy Cinco de Mayo.
At the end of one of the gospels it says that if all the stories of Jesus were written down, the world could not contain the books. Of all those stories, the Holy Spirit inspired Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to write down only nineteen separate individual stories. Some were important enough to duplicate in more than one book. Do you suppose the Lord hand-picked these particular stories to teach us something? Maybe something important?
In Luke 5:12, 13 He tells us about a terminally ill man, ‘full of leprosy’, who prays to Jesus the way most, if not all, of us have prayed at one time or another. He says ‘Lord, I know you can heal me if you will.’ If it be thy will.
Now the reason the Lord put this in three of the four books… His answer. Hallelujah! He said, without confusion, ‘I will. Be clean.’ By the way, these words are in red letters. Nothing is more true or relevant than red letters. Red letters trumps everything. Every experience, vision, theory, or opinion. Red letters beats PhDs, debates and arguments. Jesus’ answer, copied three times in red letters, is ‘I will.’
I submit that this answer is exactly what the Lord wants to teach us… That it is His will for all people for all time to be healed. In fact, in all the stories the Lord never once said ‘I won’t’ or ‘be patient, child. It’s not time yet’ never once.
All the promises of God are in Christ yes (I will) and in Him amen (be clean). 2 Corinthians 1:20.
I just love that! Jesus himself said I will to you, I will to me. Awesome! Praise God forevermore!
I love you all. Be blessed and look at all God’s promises, because they are yes to you, thanks to Jesus.

physics, spiritually speaking

Hello everyone.
I am amazed at how time seems to fly. May already!
I have heard it said that joy is a force. In Nehemiah the Lord says ‘sorrow not, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.’ That sounds like it might be a force, doesn’t it?
Back in physics class, we learned that all the forces acting on an object determine how it moves. If the forces cancel each other, the object’s motion won’t change. In the same way, spiritual forces (good and bad) can change circumstances in the physical. Forces like faith, patience and unity work for us, and forces like worry, despair and strife work against us. We can move forward if we keep the enemy’s forces from acting on us. How? By not ‘giving him place’ by thinking his thoughts. If you don’t think his thoughts, he has no foothold or hook for his forces to pull you down.
How can we hook to God’s good forces? In Isaiah 55 the Lord says to forsake our thoughts and ways, and return to Him. Philippians 4 tells us what to think on. Whatever things are true, honest, noble, pure, lovely, virtuous and praiseworthy.
Friends, we have the power to choose who pulls on us. It’s not easy! When symptoms of illness or poverty scream out every second, the ‘natural’ thing would be to think about them. But we are born again, new creations in Christ Jesus. We are not natural anymore. We are supernatural. The forces we use are supernatural. Words activate the forces in our lives. Words of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control will pull us up and forward. Words of worry, envy, arguing, complaining will pull us down and back. Also, I have heard that we can’t fight thoughts with other thoughts; it takes words to cancel thoughts. When thoughts of sickness or death attack me, I have to speak ‘by His stripes I am healed’, ‘I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.’ And ‘with long life He will satisfy me’, and many other scripture verses. Your words don’t have to be really loud, but if the voices in your head are loud you may need to speak up some. The bible says to endure hardship as good soldier. The battle may look like it’s out there, but it’s in our heads first. We can use the forces God gave us to change the motion of our lives. It may take a while to see results because we have momentum to overcome, but that’s ok. No better time than the present, right?
I love you all!

Fear and the Flu

Happy Friday, everyone.
Our public school district has completely shut down all next week due to fear of the swine flu. In light of this, I thought Psalm 91 might be a good flu shot for us. It says do not fear plague or calamity, day or night. It says 11, 000 can fall around us, but it will not come near our house. Let’s take Jesus at his word and not fear.
Also let’s use some wisdom about germ killing. Use Lysol on all doorknobs, phones, cell phones, light switches, computer keyboard, mouse, toilet handles, faucets, steering wheels, car door handles, and everything else your hands touch while germy, once a week .
When you wash your hands, make it work. Wet your hands, put soap on and rub not under water for thirty seconds, the length of the jeopardy song. Use friction. Then rinse. That way the soap can work.
No big deal; don’t get compulsive, just be wise.
I love y’all dearly!
