Good afternoon everybody.
I have discovered something for the umpteenth time last night. Again, the Lord showed me that my faith works like when the children of Israel went into the promised land. The Lord told them that everything they tread upon was theirs. Did they get the whole country the first day? No, they couldn’t put their feet down that fast.
The Lord showed me that faith works at least that well, but it requires something from us. We can’t just sit around singing Kum Bah Yah (come by here) and expect God to take us over. He expects something out of us. After all, He has fed us His word, filled us with His spirit, kept and protected us, etc. We know more about the goodness of God than we did years ago. So, as growing children, we have the opportunity and freedom to do the Word like He has raised us to do. That includes those scriptures like Mark 11:24 and Proverbs 18:21 and many others about our words. How about james 3? Now, why did I go there? I was talking about the children of Israel… Let’s look at their words. ‘we are too small, too weak. You should have let us go back to Egypt. We’re going to die in this wilderness.’ They made excuses and did not take the land that was already theirs. So their children had to do it forty years later after their words came true. Only Joshua and Caleb lived because they spoke words of faith. ‘we can take it. God is with us.’
So about us, are our words full of excuses or reasons why we can’t defeat the devil, at least not today? When Jesus healed people, many times (the majority) He required some action. ‘Show yourself to the priest’ when you’re still unclean and could be killed for showing up at temple. ‘Go your way’ when you asked Him to come with you. ‘rise and walk’, ‘go wash’, ‘stretch out’, ‘look up’. Stuff to do. Doing the Word is being humble enough to trust the everlasting, perfect, God-breathed, powerful Word above your (my) tiny, short sighted intellect. It is obeying the word when you don’t understand. The word, rightly divided by more word, (the mouth of two or three witnesses) never steers you wrong.
God gave me smarts, and I thank Him for them. I have to work sometimes at trusting through my mind into my spirit, then going back through my mind to obey with my body, most usually my mouth. I know y’all are smart, so it is possible that you might have the same issue.
The next generation of the children of Israel were willing to obey and take the land. They did take it, one city at a time. The bible says what happened to them in the old testament was an example for us. So if you are believing in Jesus for something big, it might be easier to break it into chunks. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
For example, I believe that I am already healed by the stripes of Jesus. I believe I have received total restoration of my singing voice, my hugging arms, praising hands and dancing feet and legs. It’s already mine but I get to take it. Today I took strong full breathing without help, and I am expecting it now. It’s my Jericho. I went a little longer without the bipap (breathing machine) today. I will breathe all day without it, then all night too. In the meantime, the Lord is working on the rest of my body too. And I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Praise God! So take your dreams one step at a time, but don’t lose sight of the whole thing either. I love you all.
healed by His stripes,
Nancy
