Temptation and Jesus

Good evening everyone.
I have been learning about what Jesus went through , being tempted in every way. That means he was tempted to lie, gossip, cheat, steal, be selfish, have sex, get drunk, etc. Everything that anybody has ever been tempted with. Yet he never sinned.
So that tells me three things… First, temptation is not sin. So don’t think you’re sinning when a thought comes to mind. Only if you entertain it. Second, we can be tempted without sinning. There is no such thing as an irresistible temptation. The bible says God will always give us a means for escape. Third, I imagine that Jesus knew about how Joseph beat temptation – he ran clean out of his jacket! He probably had some times where he had to walk away in order not to sin. But praise God, he did! We each have areas where we are weaker, but we never have to yield to it. We can replace the thought, speak to ourselves to keep from sinning, or walk (run) away from the situation or environment. It is possible to go a whole day, week or even month without sinning. Now that’s some goal!
But remember the temptation is not the sin. It’s like a bird flying to your shoulder and flying away versus a bird nesting in your hair. Don’t let it stay. Simple, eh? JJJ but possible, anyway.
